Malaria or just a fever? 6 signs to watch for

Malaria remains one of the most common causes of fever in West Africa. Early treatment matters.

Watch for high fever with chills, headache, body aches, nausea, tiredness and loss of appetite. Children may also become unusually drowsy.

If you suspect malaria, get tested. A rapid test or blood film confirms it — and you can book one at home through Waahii.

Seek urgent care for confusion, difficulty breathing, repeated vomiting or very high fever in a child.
